Rather than just a simple remake of Jules Verne’s classic, Eric Brevig’s latest blockbuster is a snazzy postmodern take where the characters—led by Brendan Fraser’s usual bumbling and supposedly heroic self—use the novel as a roadmap while tunneling deep into the earth.
